Terms of Service

Last updated: July 22, 2026

These are the terms of service for bolo, a weekly meal-planning and social cooking app. By creating an account or using bolo, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your password secure. You must be at least 16 years old and able to legally enter into these terms to create an account. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Use bolo for planning and cooking meals and for the social features it offers — not for uploading content you don't have rights to, abusing rate limits or the AI features, scraping the service, or interfering with other users' access. In shared spaces (clubs, households, profiles, and share links), don't post content that is illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Content you provide

You keep ownership of recipes, photos, and notes you add to bolo. By adding content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display it in order to run the product for you — including sending it to the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and, where you choose to share it, displaying and distributing it to the other users or recipients you share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in shared contexts or backups as described in the Privacy Policy.

AI-generated content

Nutrition scores, generated images, and AI-assisted edits are produced automatically and may contain errors. Nutrition and ingredient information — including anything relevant to allergies or intolerances — may be incomplete or inaccurate. bolo does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice; don't rely on it for health, medical, or allergen decisions without independently verifying and, where appropriate, consulting a qualified professional.

Subscriptions & billing

bolo offers free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through Paddle, our merchant of record, at the plan and price shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically for the billing period you select until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and will keep access until the end of your current paid period; we don't provide refunds for unused time, except where required by law. We may change plan features or pricing, and will give you notice of material changes before they take effect. Nothing in this section limits the consumer guarantees described under "Consumer rights & warranties" below.

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. On termination, your access ends and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Consumer rights & warranties

bolo is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we disclaim implied warranties. However, nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for a failure to comply with such a guarantee can be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of re-supply.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the consumer rights above, bolo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload or share in breach of these terms.

Mobile apps

If you use bolo through an app obtained from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to that store's terms. Where you use the iOS app, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and bolo (not Apple); that Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app; and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and bolo submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If you use bolo from elsewhere, you remain responsible for complying with your local laws, and mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we'll let you know by email or in the app. Continued use of bolo after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
